In putting together the comprehensive history of The Town of Washington for the
sake of this medium, it
takes the many sources and people committed to undertaking a painstaking
effort as in the case of this site. First and foremost, gratitude and thanks
goes to the Honorable Mayor of Washington, Joseph A. Pitre for commissioning
this project and setting the wheels in motion to preserve the rich history of
